Joy Mojisola Raimi, a 24-year-old graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, has emerged as Miss World Nigeria 2025, representing Osun State.
Her victory at the national pageant, held on April 4 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, marked a significant milestone in her journey, standing out among 37 contestants from across the country. Raimi’s path to the crown was shaped by resilience and determination.
Raised without a mother and facing emotional abuse from a caregiver who doubted her potential, she overcame these challenges to pursue her dreams. Her story resonated during the final Q&A segment of the pageant, where she shared, “Growing up without a mother, I faced harassment and discouragement from the caregiver who raised me. She constantly told me I would never succeed. Yet, here I am, standing on this stage, living my purpose.”

Beyond the pageant stage, Raimi is deeply committed to humanitarian causes. She founded “The Love for Humanity” project, an initiative dedicated to spreading love and restoring faith in humanity. Her advocacy focuses on issues affecting women and girls, including efforts to end period poverty. Raimi is no stranger to the world of pageantry.

In 2022, she represented Nigeria at the Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt, where she placed as second runner-up. Her experience and poise have prepared her for the global stage.
Currently, Raimi is in Hyderabad, India, representing Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant, which runs from May 7 to 31. She joins contestants from over 140 countries, carrying with her the hopes and aspirations of a nation.

Her journey from a challenging upbringing to the international stage serves as an inspiration, embodying the spirit of perseverance and the power of purpose.
