Hon. Halima Haruna Kunza is a committed grassroots politician and women’s advocate from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Hailing from Alogani Ward, she has earned recognition for her dedication to community service, leadership, and the advancement of women in governance. Her passion for leadership began during her secondary school years when she actively participated in student leadership and advocacy, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to public service and social impact.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed.) in Mathematics from the Teachers Institute in Kaduna. Her academic background reflects her dedication to knowledge, discipline, and personal development. This educational foundation has significantly influenced her approach to leadership, encouraging critical thinking, community engagement, and the promotion of education as a tool for empowerment.
Hon. Kunza’s political journey began in 1999, marking the start of an enduring career in grassroots political engagement. Over the years, she has participated actively in numerous associations and community-based organizations, serving in various leadership capacities. Through these roles, she has contributed to community mobilization, strengthened women’s participation in political processes, and promoted inclusive development within her local government area and across Nasarawa State.
Today, Hon. Halima Haruna Kunza serves as Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Nasarawa State. In this role, she champions policies and initiatives that support women’s empowerment, community development, and inclusive governance. She works closely with stakeholders, women’s groups, and community leaders to amplify the voices of women and ensure their active participation in shaping policies that affect their communities.
