Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo: A Seasoned ICT Expert with a Heart of Gold

Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo was born on June 7, 1976 to Pa Michael Mufutau Adeleye and Mary Adeleye, both native of Ogun State, Nigeria. Motunrayo is the current Commissioner of Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Motunrayo served as a two-term representative of Ifo ll State Constituency, making her on of the youngest lawmakers in the seventh legislature. She also served as special adviser on women’s affairs to former Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

The Honourable has launched a number of empowerment programmes for youths. For the purpose of educating the residents of her district in information technology, a free ICT Center has been established at Mubarak Estate and Mubarak Bus Stop. Ifo Constituency II Ogun State House of Assembly residents can receive a top-notch ICT education entirely free of charge at the centre.

With the center’s present schedule, two programs—desktop publishing and computer engineering—are offered in two sessions each day for three months.

The following desktop publishing modules are available: Computer Appreciation, Microsoft Essentials (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), and Graphical Design (CorelDraw and Photoshop).

A batch of 24 students took a computer engineering class at the centre, while a total of 48 students registered in the desktop publishing course.

A seasoned ICT expert with over 10 years of expertise and highly qualified instructors oversee the centre. The ICT centre offers a current and cutting-edge technology-based curriculum. The Ogun State House of Assembly has elected her twice.

Like every other success story, Hon. Motunrayo has had her fair share of life. Coming from a very humble background and having to fend for herself and her siblings at a very tender age which ultimately affected the pace of her education.

Adijat attended the Methodist Primary School in Tabon-Tabon Agege, Lagos, for her elementary education. She continued her secondary schooling at Lagos Baptist Secondary School in Orile Agege but finished it at Iju Grammar School in Iju Station.
