The sprinter set records in the 200 meters with a blazing result of 21.61 seconds at the 2020 US Olympic trials, claiming the title of third-fastest 200-m sprint of all time.

She won an individual bronze medal and a team silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

A brilliant athlete with many impressive feats Thomas while at Harvard majored in neurobiology and global health, graduating in 2019. Currently, the 5-11 inches 24 years old, named the Ivy League’s Most Outstanding Track Performer in 2017 and 2018 at Harvard is pursuing a master’s in epidemiology and health care management at the University of Texas at Austin.

From enduring a health scare to shattering glass ceilings bringing her ultimate Olympic dream to reality, months later, Thomas is still surprised by her performance at the Olympic Trials.

“I am still in shock. I cannot believe I put up that time. I just want more for myself now,” she told The Washington Post. “My dream was to make the Olympic team, not to win Olympic trials, not even to break the meet record. Now that I’ve accomplished those, I’m going to set higher goals.”

“I remember when I was a little girl watching [Olympic Trials], it just felt so far out for me,” Thomas said, NBC Sports wrote. “Do what you want. Dream big and take what is yours… If I can do it, you can do it.”
