Television personality and actress Joselyn Dumas is from Ghana. She spent her early years in Ghana’s capital city of Accra after being born there. Joselyn continued her studies in the United States to acquire a degree in administrative law after completing her basic education in Ghana.
Prior to moving to Ghana to pursue her goals of becoming a television personality, Joselyn Dumas worked as a paralegal in a legal practice. She made her television debut as the host of the entertainment program Rhythmz on Charter House, where she interviewed a number of famous people. She was the host of the TV chat show At Home with Joselyn Dumas, which was broadcast in Africa and several regions of Europe.
From 2008 to 2010, she co-produced Miss Malaika Ghana, one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in Ghana. She is also the founder and CEO of the production company Virgo Sun Company Limited, which was founded under her direction and co-produced the UNAIDS-endorsed film Love or Something Like that.
Her performance in Perfect Picture left a lasting effect on the filmmaker, who thereafter cast her in pivotal roles in additional films. Two years later, in the Shirley Frimpong-Manso film series Adams Apples, she had her big break. She starred in A Northern Affair in 2014, for which she was nominated for both a Ghana Movie Award and an Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress.
She has had significant roles in a number of films and television shows, including Love or Something Like That, A Sting in a Tale, Perfect Picture, A Northern Affair, and Lekki Wives. John Dumelo, Majid Michel of Ghana, and OC Ukeje of Nigeria are just a few of the African actors she has appeared with.
In particular where children are concerned, she thinks it is important to give back to society. The Joselyn Canfor-Dumas Foundation (JCDF) was founded as a result of her love of philanthropy in order to assist in addressing the needs of vulnerable children from various socioeconomic levels and geographic areas of Ghana. A project with a focus on autism is now being worked on by the JCD foundation.
She is married and blessed with a lovely daughter.
