I’m seeking advice and guidance from fellow parents who may have experienced a similar situation. Recently, my husband and I had an intimate moment before he left for a trip. We thought our two kids were occupied, but our 10-year-old son unexpectedly walked in on us.
To make matters worse, we weren’t in bed, and I was holding onto a table for support. Our son quickly shut the door and walked away. We immediately had a family discussion, apologizing and explaining that our love for each other led to the moment.
However, since then, I’ve noticed a significant change in our son’s behavior. He’s become withdrawn, morose, and barely talks to me. I feel shy around him, and our usual connection has been disrupted.
Should I:
- Have another conversation with him to clarify and reassure?
- Give him space and time to process?
- Seek professional guidance from a therapist?
