Aptly described as a stickler for excellence, a woman of principle, and a servant leader with an open door administration, former Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Toyin Machado-Onanuga, who recently bowed out of civil service after two decades of diligent and impactful service at age 60, no doubt lives an inspiring life of impact.

Born March 28, 1962, in Lagos, to her dad, Alhaji Layiwola Abdulfatai Machado, and mum Alhaja Mistura Machado, nee Abudu, both late, the last of her mum’s five children, the top civil servant upon graduation from UNIFE with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Studies, launched her career at Newswatch Communications Ltd (Publishers of Newswatch and Quality Magazines), where she honed her skills, garnering work experiences.

On January 28, 2021, owing to her impressive track record over the years she was appointed to the esteemed position of Permanent Secretary by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
