Andrea Stephenson, founder of the Simply Outrageous Youth course, a licensed Clinical Social Worker, with experience in play therapy, and over 20 years experience in working with children, is a proud mother of a three-year-old boy who can amazingly read and write. Now, keying into her knowledge and experience, she’s launching a course for other parents to show they just how it can be achieved.
Stephenson, a full-time working mom at the time, just like every regular mom thought her son would learn the alphabet by the age of 3 or 4, however after employing fun effective learning methods, her son exceeded expectations and at 18 months had begun speaking full sentences, spelling and reading at 21 months, writing the alphabet and numbers by 27 months, and doing multiplication by 36 months.
Now, Andrea who often gets asked how her son manages to pull it all off is on a mission to help children reach their full potential by showing parents how much children can do in a conducive environment with the right tools.
To help parents, she created an online course called “Teach Your Toddler to Read Through Play”, through which she reveals how her son was able to be so outstanding. She shows the books they read, the toys they played with, videos they watched and danced to, footage of her son from a baby to preschooler learning to read in a playful manner, and much more.
Andrea has also written two books called Teach Your Toddler to Read Through Play and Fun and Easy Ways to Teach Your Toddler to Write. Both books are available on Amazon.
Andrea went to Davidson College in North Carolina and received a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. She has been a Social Worker for over 12 years with experience spanning being a play therapist, directing a mentor program for kids who have been abused and neglected, and helping children start businesses.
She also runs a blog and organization SimplyOutrageousYouth.org, through which has helped thousands of parents expose their children to PLAYFUL in-depth and accelerated learning methods.
