On January 7, 2025, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was sworn in as Ghana’s first female Vice President, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s political landscape. Her journey to this esteemed position is a testament to her unwavering commitment to education and public service.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s career has been characterized by a series of groundbreaking achievements. She became the first female Vice-Chancellor of a state university in Ghana, leading the University of Cape Coast from 2008 to 2012. Transitioning into politics, she served as Ghana’s Minister for Education from 2013 to 2017.
