From Being Homeless To Clinching Crown As One Of The World's Greatest Gymnasts - Gabby Douglas Is Proof You Can Rise Above It All!

“It took a long time for me to see my own potential — a long time, finally something clicked and I knew I could be one of the best. It was a game changer. Now I’m like, ‘I am going for this. I’m going for it all.”

Two time Olympian! New York Times Bestselling Author! Oh, and let’s not forget having a Barbie doll in her likeness! Gabby Douglas found her strength, rewrote her story and yes, is inspiring others.

It’s not about the challenge, but how we choose to address it. The mind, is where it all begins!

At just 25, the ever driven inspiring
Olympic gold winning medalist has already racked up an impressive number of feats and we can’t help but love!

The 5’ 2″ sport star made her international debut in 2008 at the US Classic in Houston, Texas.

She makes history as the first woman of color of any nationality and the first African-American gymnast in Olympic history to become the Individual All-Around Champion (2012) and is also the first American gymnast to win gold in both the gymnastic individual all-around and team competitions at the same Olympic games.

In December 2012, the Associated Press named Douglas the Female Athlete of the Year, becoming the fourth gymnast to receive the honor.

Douglas credits her family and faith for her accomplishments so far.

“I look back and say, ‘Wow’ when I think of all the sacrifices we made and all the difficult times we went through,” she said. “It’s incredible.”

Be Inspired!
