In July, Spiderman star Zendaya shocked fans with news about shooting a movie with Tenet’s John David Washington – Denzel Washington’s son – during quarantine at a point when Hollywood was still trying to figure out the way to move on smoothly during the pandemic, well, the movie is headed to Netflix.
Written and directed by Euphoria’s Sam Levinson and titled Malcolm & Marie, the streaming giant confirmed on Sunday September 13, it acquired the upcoming movie from TIFF marketplace for an impressive $30 million.
The NetflixFilm Twitter account shared: “The romantic drama MALCOLM & MARIE, starring @Zendaya and John David Washington, is coming to Netflix! Sam Levinson’s lush, witty, achingly beautiful film is shot in black-and-white 35MM with cinematography by Marcell Rév.”
before filming took place between June 17 and July 2 at the Caterpillar House in Carmel, California
