????? In support of world wide Black Lives Matter protest following the death of #georgefloyd@warnerbrosentertainment has made legal drama ‘Just Mercy’ free on all digital viewing platforms throughout the month of June.
The 2019 film, based on real events, stars Michael B Jordan as civil rights attorney Bryan Stevenson as he defends Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx), an African-American man who was wrongfully convicted of murdering a white woman in the 1980s.
Just Mercy, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton
was adapted from the book of the same name by Bryan Stevenson, which won the Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction and the NAACP Image Award for Nonfiction, among other awards. The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall and was recently awarded the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award, bookriot reports.
