Fans of Madea, we’ve got super exciting news, you get an inside scoop of your fave as prolific producer, director and writer Tyler Perry is currently developing a drama prequel series on Showtime which will focus on the early life of his iconic character Madea.
According to Variety, Showtime has ordered multiple scripts for the projects, which is titled “Mabel.”
Perry and Tim Palen are the creators and executive producers of “Mabel,” with JaNeika James and JaSheika James attached to write and executive produce.
The series will focus on a crazy 20-something black woman named Mabel Simmons who moved to Atlanta in 1972 when she set the city – and the world – on fire.
