Top executive Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has officially commenced her new role as Managing Director/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc. She makes history as the first female to occupy the position since the inception of the bank in 1988.
Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe who grabs seat as the 4th Chief Executive succeeds the erstwhile MD/CEO, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, who retired on December 31, 2020.
Fidelity Bank in a statement, assured customers that the bank “under her leadership will consolidate on the already laid foundation and track record of performance, to execute the next growth phase.”
She previously served as the Executive Director, Commercial and Consumer Banking – Lagos and South Directorate and was responsible for the Commercial, SME, Consumer and Public Sector businesses of Fidelity Bank in the South West Regions of Nigeria comprising 6 states including Lagos State.
Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe whose brilliance has seen her attain high level leadership and management positions in Legal, Treasury, Investment Banking, Retail/Commercial Banking and Corporate Banking brings over 30 years of experience to the table. She has worked across various banks including Standard Chartered Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc and Citizens International Bank/Enterprise Bank.
Since joining Fidelity Bank in 2015 as Executive Director, Onyeali-Ikpe has played an instrumental role towards reforming the bank.
Nneka attended Kings College London, holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) degree and a Master of Laws (LLM). She has attended several leadership and executive management trainings in leading institutions including London Business School, Wharton Business School, and Institute of Management Development.
