Bagging a Law degree is no easy feat, it takes lots of hard work, patience, dedication and years of sacrifice to secure one of the world’s most prestigious degrees.
At just age 22 Akpene Darko-Cobbina became the youngest person in the history of Ghana to graduate from the country’s school of Law.
A product of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Akpene dethroned Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa-Safo (who made history in 2004) to hold the coveted title of Ghana’s youngest Lawyer.
The young man was called to Ghana Bar in October 2019 at age 22 years and 198 days, beating Adwoa Safo’s record of 22 years 280 days.
Akpene Darko-Cobbina upon completion of his secondary education at Mfantsipim in the Central Region began his legal education at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration in 2013.
In 2017 he graduated from GIMPA and proceeded for a brief internship at Daily Guide, while doing his internship, he sat for the entrance exam of the Ghana School of Law and passed. He was admitted same year.
He completed his professional law course in 2018 and was called to the Bar in 2019.
Currently the record holder is working with Amua-Sekyi & company and is already making strides as one of the country’s finest legal practitioners in Ghana.
