Aituaje Iruobe, better known by her stage name Waje, is a singer and music producer was born in Akure, Ondo State. She hails from Edo State and grew up in Benin city. She studied social work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
She first became well-known for her appearance on the P-Square remake of “Omoge Mi.” Waje also appeared on the duo’s 2008 hit song “Do Me.” She also provided vocals for Banky W’s “Thief My Kele” and M.I.’s “One Naira.” Waje was one of the four judges for The Voice Nigeria’s initial season in 2016.
In the 2014 film Tunnel, Waje made her acting debut. Waje appeared again in the 2018 season finale of the Africa Magic telenovela Battleground.
Through the organization “Waje’s Safe House,” which she runs with the cooperation of other NGOs every three months to further their causes, Waje worked with the youths in her community. The Mental and Environmental Development Initiative for Children, which helped Project HELP, was the first initiative supported by Waje’s Safe House (Help Educate the Less Privileged).
Waje and Omawumi established Hermanes Media in January 2019 as a media firm with a focus on brand event activation, content curation, film and TV production, advertisements, and creative digital marketing.
As part of celebrating God’s faithfulness, She released a song to mark her birthday, titled Unbroken.
