The TV host, producer, and dubbing artist Daniella Pellegrini hails from South Africa.
When Daniella was chosen from more than 500 applicants to train in broadcasting at 5FM, her career in the industry began. It has since lasted more than ten years in both Johannesburg and London.
She then went on to work as a DJ at 94.7 Highveld Stereo, a television presenter on DSTV’s youth channel GO, an MC at high profile events for international businesses, and as a sought-after voice artist.
The youngest of Pellegrini’s four siblings, he was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to attending Eden College in Hyde Park for her senior year of high school, she attended Rivonia Primary School, where she first started performing in school plays.
Pellegrini competed in gymnastics and tumbling during her time in school and spent ten years representing her country abroad. After that, Pellegrini attended Rand Afrikaans University to pursue a degree in communications, majoring in journalism, human movement studies, and communications.
A number of TV broadcasters, including SABC1, Fox, Sony Entertainment Television, and Animax, have used Daniella as their voiceover talent. She presently provides the voice for NatGeo Wild (DStv ch182). Daniella has experience acting and has appeared in TV ads for prominent companies like Standard Bank and Eskom.
At the age of 16, Pellegrini joined the SABC and made her professional acting debut on the children’s fitness program Sasko Sam in 1998. She later worked on other smaller productions, as well as music and corporate videos. Pellegrini continued her studies in acting, accents, and comedic writing after moving to London in 2006. She has contributed to several short films, such as Strange Meeting and the full-length Superman: Requiem.
