Today February 16, we celebrate Raggae sensation Koffee!
At just 20, Jamaican-born reggae artist Mikayla Simpson aka Koffee is one of the world’s leading singers and there’s no stopping her!
Koffee, highly Influenced by her religious background started singing right from childhood in the church choir. At age 12, self-taught, she had begun playing the guitar and had started writing lyrics inspired by listening to reggae singer Protoje, from there she cultivated her talent and brushed up on skills, before hitting centre stage.
The singer released her debut single “Burning” in 2017, and in 2019 signed with Columbia Records.
Koffee won Best Reggae Album, at the 62nd Grammy Awards’ prize for best reggae album for “Rapture,” a five-song EP released becoming both the first woman and youngest artist to win the award, stamping her as one of music’s power talent.
