The shocking death of prominent hip hop journalist and TV writer/producer Jas Waters also known as Jas Fly yesterday (June 10) took over social media. The devastating news was confirmed by her closest friends and colleagues.
Although details surrounding her death is sketchy at the moment, tributes have been pouring on social media : “I will miss you and will see you soon. RIP @JasFly,” tweeted co-host of REVOLT’s “The Round Up” series Lowkey. Fellow writer Sade Sellers also added, “Absolutely devastated to confirm @JasFly‘s passing. She was such a light. Offered me advice about writing so many times— prayers to her family.” Waters well known and respected in the entertainment industry in 2012, landed her very own column in VIBE magazine, going on to write for shows such as Showtime’s “Kidding,” NBC’s “This Is Us,” VH1’s “Gossip Game” and many more. She also worked on hit projects such as “Spiderman 1 and Spiderman 2, Hardball, Save The Last Dance, MTV’s Real World, Barbershop 1 and Barbershop 2 and the NBC’s ER,” according to her IMDB page.
