BET’s Black Girls Rock held on Friday night (April 1) at NJPAC Prudential Hall in Newark, New Jersey, and it was quite the event as a number of successful and inspiring black women came together for a worthy cause.
‘Black Girls Rock’ is a global women’s empowerment movement and a nonprofit mentoring organization and the event last night was attended by Jazmine Sullivan, Monica, Brandy, Andra Day, Justine Skye, Claire Sulmers, Ledisi, Naturi Naughton, Kelly Rowland, Erykah Badu, Debra Lee, and many more inspiring women.
pop star Rihanna and TV mogul Shonda Rhimes were among the honorees at this year’s Black Girls Rock! event, whereHillary Clinton made an appearance and told the audience “my life has been changed by strong black women leaders.”
The event was hosted by Hollywood actresses Tracee Ellis Ross.
