The Margay, a small spotted wild cat found in Central and South America is said to be primarily solitary in nature.
The only cat with the ability to rotate its hind legs 180, enabling it to run head first, the Margay can jump vertically 18 feet and jump horizontally 23 feet.
A skillful climber it spends a lot of time in the trees at night hunting its prey – birds, small monkeys, tree frogs and insects, climbing head first down. It is known to supplement its diet with fruit.
