Renowned Public Health Physician and Researcher Dr. Amani Adidja MD, MPH, PGPN, MSc Vaccinology, PhDc is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Yaoundé I and the Deputy Director for Vaccination at the Ministry of Public Health.
She is also Founder Doko-Adei International.
Driven by the need to empower the women folk, in 2010, Amani founded her DOKO-ADEI International initiative. A center for personal development, leadership, and women empowerment, its major aim is change!
Inspired by doctors who cared for her sick mother from time to time, Dr. Amani found her path quite early during childhood.
With decades of wealth of extensive experience at global and national levels cutting across public health and medicine, Adidja with more than ten years experience at the policy level at the Ministry of Public Health in Cameroon and at the managerial level within the private sector, where she oversaw 23 countries in Africa has no doubt established herself as a force. Her leadership ability has seen her serve as president of several associations both at home and abroad.
Dr. Amani has throughout the years served in several capacities holding various leadership positions.
In May 2021, she began serving as
University Lecturer and Researcher at the Université de Yaoundé I but before then she had already been appointed Deputy Director for Vaccination Ministry of Public Health Cameroon in June 2019, where she still serves till present.
Between Feb 2016 – May 2021, the top personality serves under the Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon as Kangaroo Care Development Impact Bond Advisor
Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon.
Dr. Adidja Amani has notably also served as a World Health Organization Consultant (May 2016 – Sep 2016).
A recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Excellence Award, the Fulbright, the Mandela Washington Fellowship, the Weston Grant, the Excellence Prize for young doctor Leader, and the Immunization champion Awards 2021, Dr. Adidja Amani holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, Cameroon, a Master of Public Health from Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA, a Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Nutrition from Boston University, Boston, USA, and a Certificate in Public Management from the Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia, USA.
She serves as a member of several professional associations including the Global Health Workforce Alliance, the Cameroon Women Medical Council, and the consortium of women researchers.
