Today we celebrate award-winning American singer-songwriter, actress, and composer Kelendria Trene Rowland popularly known as Kelly Rowland as she clocks 41!
Born February 11, 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, the talented queen rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny’s Child, one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time.
A critically acclaimed solo performer, Rowland holds her own and has evidently dished out multiple hit tracks and sold over 30 million records as a solo artist.
As an actress and composer, she is known for Freddy vs. Jason (2003), American Soul (2019) and About Time (2013) and more recently Merry Liddle Christmas (2019) and
‘A Merry Liddle Christmas Baby’ (2021).
Her amazing work has earned her several awards and nominations, including four Grammy Awards, one Billboard Music Award, and two Soul Train Music Awards. Rowland has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of Destiny’s Child, and as a solo artist, she has been honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Essence for her contributions to music. In 2014, Fuse ranked Rowland in their “100 Most Award-Winning Artists” list at number 20.
