With the four-time gold medalist’s winning her seventh Olympic medal, she equals Shannon Miller’s record for an American gymnast.
Simone Biles was greeted with a rousing cheer upon entering the stadium.
Commenting after the feat, the twenty four year old opened up on not expecting to win a medal;
“It’s been a very long week, five very long years. I didn’t expect to win a medal today, I just wanted to go out and do it for myself, and that’s what I did,” Biles said after winning the bronze medal.
Biles said after all she’s been through the medal was more special than any other medal she’s ever had;
“I will cherish it for a long time,” she said.
