Award winning Nigerian-born Uk based chartered Accountant, Author, Inspirational public speaker, Executive producer and TV presenter, Morenike Ajayi (B.sc, M.BA, FCPFA, Prince2) is
Founder of Career Nugget. She is also currently serving as GCHA (Gravesend Churches Housing Association) director and Commercial and Finance Director for London Pensions Funding Authority, where she has the responsibility of overseeing a £6bn Pension Fund.
A highly motivated firm believer of determination who believes career progression entails much more that hard work, with eyes set on helping others excel in the workplace, she founded her United Kingdom based information and support hub for Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) professions – Career Nuggets.
Morenike, a qualified CIPFA accountant with expertise in business partnering, risk management, financial planning, business process re-engineering, etc and a proven track record didn’t start off on the finance path but consumed by her love for numbers and logic, after her first degree in Computer Science, she delved into the world of accountancy. But her journey has been no smooth ride, fraught sever challenges including redundancy, rejection and relegation at some point in her over the course of her twenty two year career as an accountant, the top finance executive has since many thanks to hard work, resilience and a positive mindset navigated her way to success and is now helping others find theirs.
Her enviable career has seen her take on multiple roles notably with Transport for London, PricewaterhouseCooper and the Local Authority sector, serving in several high capacities including ‘Commercial & Financial Director’ for the London Pensions Fund Authority (2019).
Morenike Ajayi previously served as Chair of the Finance committee and Treasurer at Hopscotch. She also sat on the Board of Trustees for the National Union of Students (UK) and Hopscotch Asian Women’s Centre, a health and social care charity.
Her passion to impact in career advancement in the BME community has garnered her several awards such as The Precious Awards (2017) for Outstanding Woman in Banking & Finance.
