Michelle Obama Kicks Off The Democratic National Convention In Christian Siriano

The Democratic National Convention, which kicked off Monday in Philadelphia, promises a star-studded lineup of Hillary Clinton-supporting speakers over the next few days.

Lucky for us, first lady Michelle Obama is on that list. FLOTUS, who gave a speech just ahead of Bernie Sanders, was on hand Monday night to bless us with her poise, poignancy and of course, perpetually great style.

Mrs. Obama took the stage looking stunning as usual and very on-theme, wearing a blue, mid-length Christian Siriano dress.

The Washington Post reported Sunday that having Michelle speak during such a prime time at the convention stresses the importance that President Barack Obama’s support of Clinton has for securing his own legacy. As Andra Gillespie, a political scientist at Emory University explained, “She’s there to wrap up the Obama administration and provide a transition to what a Clinton presidency could be.”

If you ask us, though, the whole thing is just a reminder that it is our duty as American citizens to cherish every second we have left with FLOTUS in the White House while we still can.
