Many might just know her as the wife of famous Nigerian Stand Up Comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, but the astonishing mother of two, Mabel is much more. She is an entrepreneur, interior designer, and the CEO of Midas Interiors Limited, which she started in 2011.
Mabel who is one of the directors in her husband’s company, Corporate World Limited, is one of the most popular celebrity wives in the country, not just for her face, but also for her brain. Her interior decoration company, Midas Interiors is one of the best in Nigeria.
Mabel who graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, also has a second degree in Business Administration from the University of Arts, London which explains the exploits in her businesses.
The 36-year-old met her husband as an undergraduate at Delta State University, Abraka in the 2000s. AY who at the time was also a student was already a popular Event Organizer and well-known in school for his exceptional talents. According to Mabel, what really attracted her to AY was his resilience and go-getting spirit: despite losing both of his parents while in school, he was determined to see himself and his siblings through school.
Mabel revealed that their friendship started when AY had invited her to compete in one of his shows which she turned down, but they however became cordial friends during her second year. A friendship that sweetly metamorphosed into a relationship and four years later in 2008 to be precise, the wedding bell rang.
The star-studded wedding event happened at the Household of God Church in Lagos and was conducted by the popular Nigerian pastor and former presidential aspirant under Fresh Party, Chris Okotie. While one of Africa’s most talented Comedians, Bovi was her husband’s Best Man, Actress Lilian Esoro was her own Maid of Honour. The wedding was attended by several big names in the Nigerian entertainment industry like Richard Mofe Damijo, Ali Baba, Stella Damascus, Gbenga Adeyinka, Faze, Seyi Law, and many more.
