Funmilayo Oyero stands as the youngest athlete from Lagos, showcasing exceptional prowess in golf. According to reports, her journey in the world of sports began at the tender age of one, displaying an early affinity for the game. Currently a basic 4 pupil at Victory Children School, Sango Ota, Funmilayo’s dedication to golf has culminated in her participation at the National Youth Games, making her a trailblazer in the realm of youth sports.
The seventh edition of the National Youth Games, which commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony, is a testament to the nation’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sports at the grassroots level. Notably, the event began on September 23 in Asaba, featuring various young athletes from different states across Nigeria.
