Madam Vice President Kamala Harris is breaking yet another barrier and yes, she’s got the headlines!
Madame Tussauds New York yesterday Wednesday April 28 announced Harris would become the first U.S. Vice president to have a wax figure made in her likeness. An honour no Vice President prior had been bestowed with.
“Kamala Harris made history when she was sworn in on January 20th becoming the first woman, first Black person and first Asian American vice president. Madame Tussauds New York is adding another first to Harris’ list of achievements by creating a wax figure in her likeness; an honor that has never-before been extended to a vice president,” the wax museum said in a statement.
According to a press release, the heads of Harris and President Biden which took six weeks to complete were created by a team based in London. The bodies will take another four to six months.
“We’re honored to create a figure for Vice President Harris and reflect this significant moment in U.S. history for guests inside Madame Tussauds New York,” Brittany Williams, the spokesperson for Madame Tussauds, said.
The wax figures of both President Biden and Harris will take on attires of their Inauguration Day, with New York-based fashion designer Christopher John Rogers recreating the bright purple blazer and dress he designed for the vice president.
The figures will be unveiled later this year at Madame Tussauds New York in the “Oval Office Experience” reports say.
