As part of the International Women in Engineering Day (Thursday 23 June), iRAP has announced a new training grant opportunity for 30 women to take their Star Rating Essentials and Star Rating for Design courses for free.

According to iRAP, ” women make up just over 20% of our #RAPcommunity and we are keen to see that number grow. With these grants, we hope to support more women in their efforts to save lives on roads around the world.”

Women who have a background in road-related planning, design, or engineering, and have not previously taken the Star Rating Essentials and Star Rating for Designs courses are eligible for the grants. Applicants, however, will be selected on answers they provide to the questions, “why would you like to learn more about iRAP methodology, and how they would use the knowledge and skills that they learn.”

Application forms are also expected to be completed by COB on 8 July 2022 while the selected applicants will be announced on 28 July 2022.

Applicants are enjoined to contact iRAP’s Training and Accreditation Coordinator via email at franco.azzato@irap.org for any questions.
