It’s June 7th and today we celebrate popular Nollywood Nigerian actress producer and former model, Adunni Ade.
Born 7th June 1976 in Queens, New York to a father of Yoruba Nigerian descent and a German-Irish mother, before her delve in Nollywood, Adunni graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 2008.
Kicking off her professional career, she worked in the housing and insurance sector in the US. The actress later made a foray into modelling, even featuring in America’s Next Top Model.
Upon returning to Nigeria, she delved into Nollywood, landing her first film role in the film You or I.
Adunni Ade has featured in films including What’s Within, Head Gone, So in Love, Schemers, Diary of a Lagos Girl, Boss of All Bosses among others.
As a producer, she two films to her credit: Emi Mi-My Soul and Ewa Beauty.
Adunni Ade is a proud recipient of the Stella Award from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism for her efforts in promoting the Nigerian culture.
