Blessing Ernest, a passionate fitness enthusiast and mental health advocate, is set to attempt and break not one, but two Guinness World Records on July 24th. Her ambitious goal to break the records for the fastest squats in one minute and fastest jump squats in one minute is not just a physical challenge but part of her mission to raise awareness for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and we are totally here for it!

Ernest will be going for the titles of fastest squats in one minute and fastest jump squats in one minute. But these challenges are more than just about being super athletic; they are part of her mission to shine a light on BDD, a mental health issue where people see themselves differently than how they really look.

In her own words, Ernest says, “BDD is a serious thing that many people don’t even realize they have. I struggled with BDD before, but with therapy and exercise, I was able to beat it. Now, I want to use my voice to give hope and strength to others who are fighting this battle.” BDD affects millions of people around the world, with most cases being in women. Even though it’s common, BDD often goes unnoticed and undiagnosed, which makes it hard for people to get the support they need.

To spread her message even further, Ernest made a short film called “More Than We See,” which will be out on her social media this Saturday. The film shares her own journey with BDD and how she found her way to healing.

Blessing Ernest’s story shows how powerful self-acceptance and speaking out can be. Her Guinness World Record attempts and film are starting important conversations about BDD and why mental health matters.
