Dr. Diane Karusisi is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Kigali, the largest commercial bank in Rwanda. A position she has held since February 2016.
A Statistician, an economist who has serves as an assistant professor of economic statistics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. In September 2010, she was appointed as the director-general of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda, whereby she oversaw the design and implementation of major surveys.
Likewise, as the CEO of Bank of Kigali, she introduced a digital factory in 2018 which has transited from a traditional way of banking to a modern one capable of competing globally.
She is an alumnus of the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, graduating with a Master’s in Econometrics and a Ph.D. in Quantitative Economics.
In 2021, she won the GUBA Awards as the winner I the GUBA Banking Excellence Award and in 2019, Avance media named her on the Inaugural List of 100 Most Influential African Women.
