The Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has announced the appointment of Omowunmi Akingbohungbe as its new Executive Director, succeeding the outgoing Hansatu Adegbite. Akingbohungbe brings to this role a wealth of experience and a strong track record in the finance and not-for-profit sectors.
In a statement released by Bisi Adeyemi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, WIMBIZ expressed gratitude to Hansatu Adegbite for her dedicated leadership over the past seven years. Adegbite’s efforts have propelled WIMBIZ forward, leaving an indelible mark on the organization.
Akingbohungbe, an accomplished professional with 18 years of experience, is known for her expertise in strategic partnerships, business development, sustainability management, and corporate social responsibility. She is also the Founder of the Call to Love Initiative, an NGO focused on education and development for children in low-income communities.
Akingbohungbe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University and a Master’s Degree in Global Human Resource Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. She has also completed prestigious programs at Harvard Business School, Lagos Business School, and the Master Class Academy, Global Banking Alliance for Women in the Netherlands. Additionally, she is a certified Customer Service Trainer by the Service Quality Institute, USA, and a published author.
