“Akeelah and the Bee” star Keke Palmer will headline Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated latest project.
The upcoming movie set for release July 2022 at Universal was penned, produced and directed by Oscar winning Jordan Peele, Deadline reports.
Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya is also in talks to join the movie – a reunion between the actor and director –
Peele won the Academy Award for best original screenplay for “Get Out” in 2018, while Kaluuya grabbed a nod for the best actor Oscar for his performance.
Palmer is known for “Akeelah and the Bee” , “Hustlers,” Disney Plus revival of “The Proud Family’ among others.
The film is produced by Peele and Ian Cooper through the Monkeypaw Productions banner as part of the company’s five-year exclusive deal with Universal. SVP of production Sara Scott and Tony Ducret will oversee the project on behalf of Universal. No title has been given yet, further details have not been divulged.
