Today we celebrate Her Excellency, Bamidele Abiodun, Nigerian businesswoman, philanthropist and wife of Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State, Nigeria.
Born July 16, 1966 to the family of Professor Oladipo Oduye, a former deputy vice chancellor at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and the late Mrs Abimbola Wosilat Oduye both from Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Her Excellency obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from The University of Ibadan in 1988 before delving into world of business in the mid 1990s.
In June 2019 she was appointed as the United Nations Sustainable Development Champion by the Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development (CSCSD). During her tenure as first lady of Ogun State, she has initiated several programs with a focus on social welfare, health , education and poverty reduction.
Current Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and First Lady, Bamidele Abiodun tied the knot in 1990. The couple was blessed with five children but lost their eldest Olugbenga Abiodun, a Nigerian DJ also known as DJ Olu in 2017.
