First Lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Centre, Her Excellency Dr. Olufolake Abdulrazaq recently received double honours as she was named Daily Independent Newspaper’s North Central First Lady Of The Year for her immense contribution towards socio-economic development in the state, particularly with lens focused on women, children and the youths. Her Excellency was also named First Lady of The Year In Economic Empowerment.
The notable recognition is well deserved as over the years, Her Excellency Dr. Olufolake Abdulrazaq former Minister/Head, Consular Education and Welfare Section, Nigeria High Commission, London, through her Ajike People Support Centre, an NGO for the uplift of the needy has spearheaded several initiatives gearing towards women and youth empowerment.
The event, aimed at recognising First Ladies who have in no small measure impacted lives in their respective states was held Wednesday at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari who was represented by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Barrister Aliyu Abdullahi, speaking at the event, made an appeal to the media to ensure visibility on impact of First Ladies towards bettering life of citizens, saying it was part of social responsibility:
“I want to use this opportunity to call on media practitioners to engage more with first ladies so that their projects can get more visibility.
The partnership will be a win-win because the media would then have discharged a part of its social responsibility,” she said.
