International Women’s Day honours women whose intellect, courage, and vision shape conversations that define the future. It celebrates leaders who rise beyond borders to influence systems, institutions, and global policy with clarity and conviction. Across continents, the day recognises women whose work advances justice, inclusion, and sustainable development.
Praise Agomuonso is a Nigerian-born legal scholar and youth leader from Abia State, currently based in the United Kingdom, where she is pursuing advanced doctoral studies in Law. With an LLB and two LLM degrees, her academic journey reflects discipline, intellectual depth, and a sustained commitment to governance and justice. Her scholarship is anchored in advancing youth inclusion within policy processes and strengthening frameworks for equitable development.
Passionate about sustainable development and global youth empowerment, she has participated in distinguished international leadership programmes as an Explorer in South Korea and as a Catalyst in Switzerland. Her global engagement culminated in her emergence as a Global Navigator for the International Forum “We, The Youth”, an initiative implemented in partnership with the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development and Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation. Her selection from more than 27,000 applicants across five continents, as the sole Nigerian finalist representing Europe and Africa among 47 global youth leaders, stands as a testament to her excellence and international credibility.
Her influence extends into high-level global policy platforms, where she contributes to dialogue on youth development, gender inclusion, and sustainable futures. She has engaged in conversations across institutions such as the World Economic Forum, the Commission on the Status of Women, climate governance discussions under the Conference of the Parties, and the United Nations General Assembly. Through these platforms, she advances perspectives that centre young people as architects of policy innovation and global transformation.
Her journey reflects resilience, scholarship, and principled leadership. She represents a generation of African women redefining legal and policy influence on the global stage, grounded in purpose and driven by impact. Her work demonstrates that youth leadership is not symbolic but substantive, strategic, and essential to shaping equitable futures.
