Nile Group, a newly announced media and entertainment company, has taken a significant step in redefining industry leadership by forming a female-led executive team. Leading this pioneering move is Biola Sokenu, who joins the leadership as Group Executive Director.
Biola Sokenu, an accomplished Financial Controller and Production Accountant, brings over two decades of experience across the UK, Nigeria, and the USA to her new role at Nile Group. Sokenu’s career is a testament to her expertise and versatility in the entertainment industry, having worked on over 27 titles, including acclaimed independent films like “Eyimofe,” “Nigerian Prince,” and “Half of a Yellow Sun.” Her portfolio also extends to popular TV shows such as “MTV Shuga,” “Louie Season 1 & 2,” and “Grand Designs.”
Before joining Nile Group, Sokenu played a crucial role at Fleet River Productions Ltd, where she managed the financial operations for Netflix’s “The Diplomat S2.” Her proficiency in both on-site and remote environments was previously demonstrated during her tenure on Netflix’s “The Pentaverate,” ensuring seamless financial management across complex projects.
