On December 10, 2005, Kechi Okwuchi was a passenger in a terrible plane crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of 107 out of the 109 people on board.
She was 16 years old, with 3rd degree burns on 65% of her body, and was given a 30% chance of surviving.
She was flown to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, for prompt medical care and treatment.
She returned to secondary school in 2009 and received a First Class Economics Degree from the University of Saint Thomas in 2015.
Kechi received invitations to join six honor societies, including the International Economics Honor Society.
Today, Kechi Okwuchi works as a singer, songwriter, inspirational speaker, social impact advocate, and published author of “More Than My Scars.”
