Samuel L. Jackson, who is 75 years old, and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, who is 74 years old, have a love story that seems to have stood the test of time. They believe that it is revolutionary for Black people to stay together and raise their children with both a father and a mother. They wanted to challenge the false narrative that African American families are only made up of single mothers raising children. To change this narrative, they made a decision to stay together no matter what and figure things out as a team. Their love is built on respect, love, and looking out for each other.
During their time together, Samuel L. Jackson struggled with drug addiction. However, LaTanya was there to support him and help him get clean. He has been in recovery for over 30 years now and continues to have a successful career in Hollywood. Samuel credits LaTanya for giving him the chance to become the man he was meant to be.
Another secret to their successful marriage is working on projects together. Recently, they were producing partners on the Apple TV+ limited series called The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, in which Samuel also starred. By collaborating on projects, they are able to share their passions and support each other’s careers.
