The second edition of Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) announced this year nominees with ‘Ghana Must Go’, ‘Fifty’, ‘Silver Rains’, ‘Gbomogbomo Express’ and ‘The cursed ones’ receiving multiple nominations and competing for the overall best film.
The nominees were unveiled at Tang Palace Hotel in Accra with several movie directors, actors, actresses and industry players in attendance.
Country Director, Mimi Andani in her welcome address said a total of 248 movies were entered this year and this year’s competition was greater than ever, reflecting the tremendous diversity in the film industry.
Meanwhile, Nadia Buari has been unveiled as a brand ambassador for the 2016 edition of the Golden Movie Awards. According to NMJ Ghana, organisers of the award, it believes in brand association, which is one of the fundamental drivers of Golden Movie Awards values including resilience, transparency and service which is guiding in the awards organisation.
The main ceremony is slated June, 25 and will recognize and honour achievement throughout Africa’s film industry with a lot of surprises.
