It just got even better! Sequel to Ryan Coogler’s top-grossing Marvel film Black Panther has got an exciting new addition, British actress, screenwriter, director and producer Michaela Ewuraba Boakye-Collinson, known professionally as Michaela Coel!

The beloved star, 33, came to prominence last year many thanks to her critically acclaimed HBO Max series – “I May Destroy You” which landed her four Emmy nods this year.

Coel’s credits include the Netflix programs “Black Mirror” and “Chewing Gum,” and the feature films “Been So Long” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Although the film’s script had to be reworked on following the sad passing of #ChadwickBoseman due to colon cancer a year ago, Co star Lupita Nyong’I commented on the filmmaking process, “The way he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful to the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world.”

Although character details are sketchy at the moment, much of the first Black Panther film including Lupita, Daniel Kaluuya, Letita Wright among others are expected to return, reprising their roles from the first film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is set for wide release on July 8, 2022.
